MAGNETIC BLACKBOARD / PIZARRA MAGNETICA.

Desde pequeña siempre me han encantado las manualidades, construir cosas etc... mi madre me recuerda en muchas ocasiones que cuando tenía 4 ó 5 años tuve una época en la que me dió por escribir poesías en la pared, eso sí, muy artística yo le ponía su orla y todo, quedaba monísima, así que cuando mi madre se despertaba de la siesta, tachán!!!! se encontraba con el sorpresón, para mí era una obra de arte, claro que para mis padres no tanto, no sé cuántas veces tuvieron que pintar el pasillo, pues en fin, me sigue encantando pintar, etc...pero claro,ya me he "reformado" un poco y, al menos, no sigo haciéndolo en la pared. Llevo ya tiempo buscando por internet una de esas pizarras de vinilo monísimas pero ninguna me acababa de convencer, por el dibujo, por el tamaño, por el precio (quería varias), etc...  así que como decidí tener una casa totalmente d.i.y y dar rienda suelta a mi imaginación, empecé a investigar a ver cómo podía hacerla.


Since i was a child, I have always loved crafts, building things, etc...my mum always remembers me many times when I was 4 or 5 years old I had a time when I always wrote poems onto the wall, constantly, I was very artistic so I put a lot of ornaments around the poems, It was really nice, and when my mum woke up after siesta time.....ta-rah!!!!! I surprised her with my creation, It was a work of art, but I think my parents didn´t think the same like me, I don´t know how many times they had to paint the corridor, but well, I still love painting,etc....although, obviously, I "changed" myself a little bit  and, at least, I don´t do it onto the wall. I have been searching on internet one of those vynil blackboards long time ago which are so cute but I wasn´t convinced about any of them, because I didn´t like the design, or size, or price ( I wanted some of them), etc...so, as I wanted a d.i.y home and to be creative and let my imagination run free, I investigated about how I could make it.



1. WHAT DO I NEED? / QUE NECESITO?

- Pinceles,brochas,rodillos.
- Papel para empapelar paredes apto para pintar.
- Pintura magnética.
- Pintura de pizarra ( hay muchos colores, no tiene que ser negra).
- Pintura de color (opcional).
- Cúter.

-Diferent sizes of brush and roller paint.
- Wallpaper suitable for painting.
- Magnetic premier.
-Blackboard paint (there are a lot of colours, It doesn´t have to be black if you don´t want).
 - Colour paint (optional).
 - Cutter.

2. WE CHOOSE THE DESIGN AND SIZE./ ELEGIMOS EL DISEÑO Y EL TAMAÑO.


Yo elegí un tamaño bastante grande y no quería complicarme con el dibujo, así que corte dos trozos de papel de empapelar y los uní con fixo de doble cara para que fuera más grande. El diseño lo podéis imprimir y calcar, pero como el mío era muy grande decidí pintar a ojo una especie de mariposa abstracta.

I chose a big size but I didn´t want to make a design very complicated, so I cut two pieces of wallpaper and taped both with both side tape because my design was huge. You can print and copy with tracing paper, but my shape was really big so I decided to create a freehand drawing like abstract butterfly.

3. WE PAINT FILLING THE SHAPE./ PINTAMOS RELLENANDO LA FORMA.

- Le damos 3 capas de pintura magnética y dos de pizarra (debemos esperar entre capa y capa a que se seque totalmente).

- We apply 3 coats of magnetic primer and 2 of blackboard paint (waiting until each coat is dry before applying the next coat).








4. WE PAINT A BORDER WITH OTHER COLOUR (OPTIONAL) / PINTAMOS UN BORDE DE OTRO COLOR (OPCIONAL).

- Recortamos el papel sobrante con un cúter.

-We cut out the excess of wallpaper with an utility knife.









5. WE CAN PUT BOTH SIDE TAPE TO PUT ONTO THE WALL OR APPLY WALL PAPER GLUE DIRECTLY ONTO THE WALL./ PONEMOS FIXO DE DOBLE PARA PEGARLO A LA PARED O LO PEGAMOS CON COLA PARA EMPAPELAR.

- Yo elegí la primera opción porque así puedo cambiarla de sitio y no ensucio la pared.

I chose the first option to move it when I want and don´t stain the wall.







Y ya sólo nos queda elegir imanes y un sitio dónde ponerla, yo elegí la cocina, para apuntar las cosas que se me olvidan por comprar, poner mensajitos, etc...así que si tenéis niños, necesitáis dónde apuntar cosas o simplemente os gusta, os aconsejo una, es muy práctica, original y decorativa. Now all you have to do is choose magnets and decide where you want put it on, I chose the kitchen to write all things which I forget to buy, writing messages, etc.... so if you have kids, you need where you write things or simply you like it, I advice you to make one of them, is pretty practical, original and decorative. CHOCOLATE KISSES / BESOS DE CHOCOLATE.

Como os dije la semana pasada, estuve en Brujas el fin de semana, preciosa ciudad y ni qué decir de las tiendas de chocolate y galletas típicas belgas que tiene, mi post de hoy viene inspirado precisamente por una de esas tiendas en las que vendían galletas de todo tipo, rellenas de chocolate, fresa, galletas de almendras.....hacía muchísimo tiempo que no las hacía y me entró mono, así que manos a la obra!!

As I said last week, I was in Brugge for the weekend, it´s a nice city, it´s quite clear that it has a beautiful cookies and chocolate typical shops, my new post is inspired precisely by one of those shops where all kind of cookies were sold, with chocolate, strawberry, almonds fillings.....I didn´t make them long time ago and I had the need to make them, so let's get on it!!

1. QUE NECESITO? / WHAT DO I NEED?

- 165 grs de mantequilla sin sal.

- 250 grs de harina común.

- 1 huevo.

- Un poco de lehe.

- Media cdta de sal.

- Crema de cacao.

- 110 grs de azúcar glass.

- 165 grs unsalted butter.

- 250 grs flour.
- 1 egg.
- Some milk.

 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
 - Cocoa cream
 - 110 grs icing sugar.

2. PONEMOS EN UN BOL LA MANTEQUILLA Y EL AZUCAR GLASS /  WE PUT IN A BOWL TOGETHER THE ICING SUGAR AND UNSALTED BUTTER.

- La mantequilla debe estar a punto de pomada ( ni dura ni derretida).

- Removemos con una paleta de silicona hasta que esté integrado.

- Butter must be a room temperature.

-We mix with a silicone spoon until getting a homogeneous mixture.

3. AÑADIMOS EL HUEVO. / WE ADD AN EGG.

- Removemos hasta que quede todo integrado.

-We mix until getting a homogeneous mixture.

4. AÑADIMOS LA HARINA Y LA SALT. /  WE ADD SALT AND FLOUR.

- Tamizamos y mezclamos hasta que esté integrado.

- We sift them and we mix until getting a homogeneous mixture.

5. AÑADIMOS UN CHORRITO DE LECHE PARA QUE TODO QUEDE BIEN INTEGRADO./ WE ADD A LITTLE MILK TO HOMOGENIZE THE MIXTURE.

- Cuando hayamos terminado la mezcla no debe pegarse y no debemos amasarla, sólo le damos forma de bola y dejamos reposar 10 min.

- When we have finished, the mixture musn´t be sticky to the touch and we musn´t knead it, we must just to give it a ball shape and let it set for 10 minutes.

  

-La masa debe tener este aspecto.

-The dough must look like this.

6. EN UNA BANDEJA DE HORNO DAMOS FORMA DE CIRCULOS A LA MASA. / WE MAKE CIRCLE SHAPES WITH THE DOUGH IN A OVEN TRAY .

- Ponemos la masa en forma de cículos y de poco grosor ( yo me ayude de un molde de macarons).

- We make thinness circles ( I used a macarons mould to make them).

7. RELLENAMOS CON LA CREMA DE CACAO. / WE FILL IN WITH THE CACAO CREAM.

8. HACEMOS DE NUEVO LOS MISMOS CIRCULOS Y TAPAMOS. / WE MAKE CIRCLES WITH THE DOUGH AGAIN AND WE COVER IT UP.

 9. PRECALENTAMOS EL HORNO A 180º  Y HORNEAMOS POR ARRIBA Y POR ABAJO DURANTE 10 MIN. / PRE-HEATING THE OVEN TO 180º AND WE BAKE FOR 10 MINUTES.

- Dejar enfriar.

- Allow to cool at room temperature.

Y ya tenemos listas nuestras galletas rellenas de chocolate, con estas medidas saldrá sobre unas 54 galletas del tamaño de los macarons. Rápido,fácil y están buenísimas, las guardamos en un bote y tenemos galletas para rato, a disfrutarlas!!!Besitos a todos!!!

Finally, we have already our cookies filled with chocolate, with this quantities we can make 54 cookies with macarons size. It is fast, easy and they are so yummy, we can put them in a jar and we can have cookies for a long time. NEW CREATION / NUEVA CREACION

Como lo prometido es deuda, aquí va mi última creación, espero que a la persona a la que se la he hecho le guste tanto como yo he disfrutado haciéndola.
La tarta es un bizcocho de ron, relleno y cubierto con dulce de leche.
Que paséis todos un feliz día de San Valentín y un estupendo finde semana, yo me voy a pasar el finde a Brujas así que estoy muy emocionada!!Nos vemos a la vuelta!!besitos!!

As promises are made to keep, here you have my last creation, I hope that the person, who made it, likes it as I have enjoyed making it.
The cake is made of rum sponge, fill in and covered with milk caramel.

RESTAURANDO UNA BANDEJA / REFURBISHING A TRAY.

Desde que estoy aquí me he aficionado a las tiendas de segunda mano, a veces hay cosas que realmente no comprarías, pero con un poco de imaginación puedes convertirlo en algo totalmente diferente, así que en una de mis visitas encontré un objeto al que le ví infinitas posibilidades, a pesar de no saber realmente qué era.

Since I have been here ,I have became a great fan of secondhand shops, sometimes there are items that you wouldn´t buy them , however, with a bit of imagination, you can change them into something totally diferent, on one on my visits I found an object which had infinite possibilities while I didn´t know what it really was.

Esto es lo que encontré.

This is what I found.

Decidí pintarlo de blanco roto, lo envejecí y le quité las cuerdas de plástico que traía y lo cambié por cuerda de verdad, de las que se usan para jardinería.

I decided to paint it off-white, I gave it an old-looking and I removed the plastic cords and I changed for twines.

 Finalmente se me ocurrió que podía usarlo para las toallas del baño, quedaría muy original.

Finally, I thought that I could use it in the loo, to put the towels, it would be very original.

Compré dos,así que el otro lo puse en la cocina para la fruta y verdura.

I bought two of them so, one of both I used it to put fruit and vegetables.

Son muy prácticos y me encanta el estilo entre shabby chic que tanto se lleva y rústico.

They are so useful and I love the style, between shabby chic ( very trendy) and rustic style.


Ahora me voy a preparar una sorpresita por san valentín que será el próximo post, FELIZ SAN VALENTÍN A TODOS!!!!!

HOME MADE AIR FRESHENERS / AMBIENTADORES CASEROS.

El otro día navegando por internet encontré una idea genial para ambientar la casa pero con tu aroma favorito, y es que los ambientadores que suelo encontrar son muy dulces, mi favorito es el de nenuco, pero desde que estoy en inglaterra no hay manera de encontrar nada parecido, así que me animé a hacerlo y aparte del olor que dan pueden quedar muy decorativos (fuente blog "manualizando").

The other day, I was surfing on the internet and I found out a brilliant idea to scent the house but using your favorite fragance as the air fresheners I use to find smell so sweet for me, my favorite fragance is nenuco, but since I have been in England, I can´t find it, so I was encoraged to make them , in addition to smell, they can be highly decorative (source "manualizando" blog). 

1. QUE NECESITO? / WHAT DO I NEED?

  

- Sal, gelatina en polvo,colorantes alimenticios (en gel o líquidos), botes vacíos, agua, esencia (los aceites que venden para los quemadores) y yo también le eché un poquito de aceite de mejorana, que apenas dá olor pero relaja.

-Salt, gelatine, food colorants (liquid or gel),empty glass jars, water, concentrate aroma and, also, I used some drops of marjoram to relax the atmosphere.

2. PONEMOS LA SAL Y LA GELATINA EN UN BOL / WE PUT GELATINE AND SALT IN A BOWL.

- 1cdta de sal y 9 gr. de gelatina.

-1 teaspoon of salt and 9 grs gelatine.

3. ECHAMOS AGUA FRIA EN EL BOL / WE PUT COLD WATER IN A BOWL.

- 250ml de agua fría,removemos y dejamos reposar  10 min.

- 250ml cold water, stir and let stand 10 minutes.

4. CALENTAMOS 250ML DE AGUA Y LO ECHAMOS EN EL BOL / WE HEAT 250ML OF 

   WATER AND WE PUT IN THE BOWL.

5. AÑADIMOS 2 O 3 CUCHARADAS DE ESENCIA A LA MEZCLA / WE ADD 2 OR 3 

   SPOONS OF CONCENTRATE AROMA TO THE MIXTURE. 

6. PONEMOS COLORANTE EN LOS BOTES DE CRISTAL Y LOS RELLENAMOS CON LA

 MEZCLA / WE PUT COLORANT IN THE GLASS JARS AND FILL THEM IN.

7. POR ULTIMO, LOS DEJAMOS EN EL FRIGORIFICO DURANTE 3 O 4H / FINALLY, WE

 LEAVE THEM IN THE FRIDGE FOR 3 OR 4 HOURS.                                                          

8. DESPUES LOS DECORAMOS / AFTER WE DECORATE THEM.                                           

Y este fué el resultado, fácil,barato, bonitos y huelen genial.

And this is the result, easy,cheap,nice and they smell really good.
